70A Primary Student Creative Painting Competition

Theme

Students should create a piece of two-dimensional painting on the theme “the 70th Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China”.

Students can choose any achievement and/or development of our country in the past seventy years as the subject matter of their paintings. Examples include advancement in innovative technology (e.g. aerospace technology, transportation, smart city, environmental conservation, and medical and health), conservation and management of cultural heritage (tangible and intangible), as well as strategies and planning for combating natural disasters (e.g. flooding, drought, earthquake and sandstorm). They can also express their aspiration of the future of our country in their artworks.

Details

  • The Competition is divided into two groups, the Lower Primary Group (P.1 to P.3) and the Upper Primary Group (P.4 to P.6).
  • Each participant should submit ONE original painting of his/her own.
  • Each school can submit a maximum of 10 entries for each group. Schools can arrange internal competitions for the selection of their entries.
  • Students should paint in two-dimensional format using any media, e.g. poster colour, water colour, crayon, oil pastel, ink, etc.
  • Each entry should be accompanied with an introduction (in Chinese or English) to introduce the ideas or messages of the artwork.

Active Participation Award

Schools that have a participation rate of more than 70% in any group of their internal competitions
  • Each school will be awarded a “Certificate of Active Participation” for each group
